Signs your air conditioning system requires a Diagnostic & Repair

It’s important to be aware of how your air conditioning system is performing, if you have noticed any changes to its operation, airflow or any error codes. Identifying these issues early can help you save both time and money.

Central Coast Air Conditioning understands the importance of quickly diagnosing and repairing your air conditioning system.

Inconsistent Temperature

If you have noticed that your air conditioning system is no longer working at the set temperature this can be due to a variety of issues.

Parts may have become faulty, for example a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Another reason could be that the system has developed a refrigerant leak. It could also be a sign that the system is nearing the end of its life span and will need to be replaced.

Loud Noises, Bad Odors

Another sign that your system requires a Diagnostic & Repair is if you have heard an unusual noise coming from either the indoor or outdoor unit.

Similarly, if you notice a musty or mouldy odour on your Split System, it may suggest that your unit requires a thorough chemical clean.

Water Leaks

If you have observed water coming from either your indoor Split System unit or around your Ducted system ceiling outlet, it’s likely that you have a blocked drain or an issue with your roof.

Increase In Your Energy Bills

A sudden increase in your energy bill can also be a sign that it may be drawing excess energy that previously. This could be due to the age of the system, a malfunctioning thermostat or a problem with the compressor.

Limited Airflow

Your air conditioning should be circulating air throughout your property. If this is not happening, this could be due to blocked filters or hindered ductwork. Your air conditioning system can build up dirt and grime blocking the vent. A deteriorating compressor can decrease airflow as well as regular wear and tear.

Power Issues

If your system or controller are showing no signs of power and won’t turn on, this may be due to several reasons including those in the previous points.

Your batteries in the remote control could also require replacement or your circuit breaker may have tripped.

Diagnosing and repairing your air conditioning system

We understand that it can be frustrating for clients when their air conditioning system is not functioning property especially over the summer or winter periods.

Central Coast Air Conditioning recommends having an annual professional maintenance service be performed in autumn or spring before temperatures fluctuate in your home, office or business.

Over time this will contribute to the system longevity and reduce the risk of system failures.
